Request

Retrieves a single device group thumbnail by its ID.

Returns the details of one previously-uploaded thumbnail image, identified by thumbnail_id. Use List thumbnail pics to find available thumbnail IDs.

About Device Group Thumbnails Device Group thumbnails are purely cosmetic images used to visually distinguish groups in the Console UI.

  • thumbnail_id — ID of the thumbnail image to retrieve

  • Confirming a specific thumbnail's image URL before applying it to a group
  • Verifying a thumbnail still exists prior to deleting or reassigning it

Best Practices

  • Use the list endpoint to find valid thumbnail_id values rather than guessing
  • Re-check a thumbnail's existence here before referencing it elsewhere, since it may have been deleted
  • Cache thumbnail URLs client-side rather than re-fetching repeatedly, since thumbnails rarely change
