Deletes a device group thumbnail image.

Permanently removes the specified thumbnail image from the enterprise's thumbnail library.

About Device Group Thumbnails Deleting a thumbnail removes the uploaded image itself. If a device group is currently using this thumbnail, plan to assign a replacement image so the group isn't left without one in the Console UI.

  • thumbnail_id — ID of the thumbnail image to delete

Best Practices

  • Confirm no device group still needs this thumbnail before deleting, since deletion is irreversible
  • Use List thumbnail pics to confirm the correct thumbnail_id before deleting
  • Upload a replacement thumbnail first if a group's current image is being retired

Workflow

  1. List thumbnails and confirm the thumbnail_id to remove
  2. DELETE using that thumbnail_id
  3. Reassign an alternative thumbnail to any group that was using the deleted image
